FREE Community Connection Workshops
A different topic each month, free and open to the public. Space is limited to first 75 in attendance.
Each workshop is from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m on the 4th Monday of the month – January – May and August – October. Childcare is not provided.
May 20: Ignorance ISN’T Bliss! A Special presentation from our friends at St. Simons by the Sea
Let’s talk about how Awareness Alleviates (Unnecessary) Suffering of Anxiety, Depression, Phobias, ADHD, and other Mental Health Challenges. Blaise Dismer, LCSW and author of “Homebound No More: How I Beat Agoraphobia” and Brooke Baskin, Community Relations and Counseling Intern at St. Simons By The Sea will be our special guests for this bonus workshop!
Blaise Dismer, L.C.S.W. is an experienced therapist and native Atlantan. He received his Psychology degree from North Georgia College and his Masters degree from UGA. A recovered agoraphobic, Blaise specializes in treating anxiety and depression disorders through CBT and mindfulness work. An author and speaker, he enjoys working with persons eager for relief from suffering.

Brooke Baskin – Brooke is a Saint Simons Island Native and graduated from CCGA in 2014 with a Bachelors of Psychology in Community and Organizational Leadership. She has been employed with Saint Simons By-the-Sea for 5 years and in many different capacities. Currently Brooke is a business development and community relations representative for SSBTS where she coordinates educational events within the community and works closely with referral sources to improve continuity of care.

Pat Taff is no stranger to deep grief. As a mother of two, she experienced the indescribable grief of losing her young adult son, Brian, to suicide. She leads this group with grace, compassion, and wisdom. There is NO COST to attend. Please feel free to contact our office for more information or simply come as you are.
