The Journey Group for Girls
WINTER/SPRING 2019 GROUP FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS
Deadline to register WITH paid deposit: January 25, 2019
The Journey group is a 10-week study to help girls discover:
Know God. Know Peace. No God. No Peace.
The reality is that anxiety and depression are on the rise.
Social, political, and environmental causes are likely implicated in an increase in the number of teens each year who have had a depressive episode, up 37 percent between 2005 and 2014.⁵
High school students today have more anxiety symptoms and are twice as likely to see a mental health professional as teens in the 1980s.⁶
In this 10-week group, girls will learn to identify the root of their anxiety, fears, and inconsistent emotional moods. They will be given different tools to help cope with anxiety, with opportunities to practice these coping mechanisms within the group setting. Special topics will include: anxiety related to social media, friendships, and school. My prayer is that through this class, teens can feel confident in their ability to handle life’s inevitable difficulties in way that leads to freedom and peace.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
