Counseling & Therapy
Problems in the present often have their roots in the past. If we can bring about a healing of “heart scars” from those earlier life experiences, we can break free from the bondage of psychological distress and become all that God has intended us to be.
At Centered for Life, we provide professional clinical counseling and psychotherapy to identify and remediate cognitive, mental, and emotional issues, including personal growth, adjustments to a disability, crisis intervention, and psychosocial problems.
We start with an assessment and diagnosis to establish our counseling goals and objectives and empower you to deal adequately with life situations, reduce stress, experience growth, change behavior, and make well-informed rational decisions.

Frequently Asked Question
What can I expect from counseling?
The first counseling session, often called the Intake, usually involves discussing the counseling process and gathering extensive background information. Following this initial session, our work with clients is more tailored to the presenting issue(s) that has brought you to see us while still maintaining a broad enough focus to identify any additional concerns that might be emerging or have yet to be recognized by you. In addition to discussing relevant issues, sessions will also commonly involve utilizing and reviewing assessments designed to supplement the information supplied by you.
How often do I need counseling, life coaching or spiritual direction sessions?
In most situations, clients are seen weekly or every other week. However, each case is unique and can have different needs.
How long does an individual session last?
Intake sessions usually last between 60-90 minutes, and subsequent sessions last 50-90 minutes depending on your individual needs
How is counseling different from life coaching?
Counseling tends to be more focused on trying to restore or improve mental health and/or daily functioning, while life coaching is often more about learning how to harness mental skills in order to achieve optimal levels of performance through increased confidence, consistency, etc. In addition, life coaching sessions are usually more action-oriented and can occur in a variety of settings, including our office or your place of work, or other public places, depending on the client's needs
How long does the assessment process take?
From the time of the initial session, the assessment process usually lasts 2-4 weeks. However, the time required to finish the assessment process can vary based upon factors such as timely turnaround of test instruments from collaterals, client’s availability, number of tests necessary (based upon presenting issues), and the possible need for further testing. We are aware of your needs as our clients, thus we strive to complete all assessments in the most efficient manner possible.
Do you take insurance?
No. We currently do not take insurance. To keep our costs low, we have chosen to not file insurance. However, what we will do is create an invoice or provide you with a receipt upon payment so you can file with your insurance company if you choose to do so.
