Angela Thornton
Angela graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, with a Bachelor of Arts in English. After working in social work with children, the disabled, and the aging populations, Angela returned to school and received a Master of Arts in Teaching in English Education and an Education Specialist in English Education. Over the past thirteen years, Angela has worked with students spanning the ages of middle school through college age. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Clinical Counseling at the Townsend Institute at Concordia University – Irvine. Angela is EMDR trained and working toward certification.
Angela joined the team at the beginning of 2023 after working for five years as a discipleship coach, classroom instructor, and adjunct professor in Columbia, South Carolina. Her focus was mentoring young adults, especially young women, in their relationship with Christ. After seeing up-close the influence of trauma in the lives of so many students, Angela longs to see healing and restoration permeate a generation.
