Associate Professional Clinical Counselor
Sherry Sloan
Sherry’s passion for healthy relationships was fueled by a childhood riddled with violence, abuse, addiction, and divorce, followed by the myriad of challenges experienced through growing up in a blended family.
Sherry has been helping people of all ages, stages, and walks of life in their relationships with God and each other for over 30 years. She has worked one on one with individuals and in group settings at schools, churches, and in community groups helping people find hope, healing, and direction. Seeing the great needs of people and having personal understanding of hurt and struggles of life propelled Sherry to answer God’s call to become professionally equipped.
Sherry graduated from Liberty University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her undergraduate work was also completed through Liberty for a Bachelor of Science in Psychology-Magna Cum Laude, with an emphasis in Life Coaching and a minor in Christian Counseling. While at Liberty Sherry earned certificates in Premarital Counseling, Marriage Counseling, Women’s Counseling, Counseling Children, and Crisis Counseling, as well as certificates in Marriage Coaching and Life Coaching. She trained in play therapy modalities including sand tray therapy and expressive arts therapy. Sherry is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and is EMDR trained, working toward EMDRIA certification.
Beyond clinical work her passion extends to her personal love for family and friends where she and her husband of 34 years both enjoy gathering loved ones together for delicious food and family fun. Sherry and Roger live a busy and grateful life as parents and grandparents to four sons, four daughters-in-law, four granddaughters and two more grandchildren due September 2024!
